You have found a page containing the most definitive compilations available of the Beatles' music. Included are many of the fine Dr. Ebbetts needle-drops, and the Purple Chick series, nearly in it’s entirety. Also, some great bootlegs are here that fill in any blank spots left.
You will download .zip and .rar files that contain .flac files. You can play the .flac files with VLC Media player, or you can use Winamp…which will also allow you to change them into .wav or .mp3 files. Then you can burn them to a disk or send them to your ipod.
There is a Website chronicling the Purple Chick series. Use it as a guide for what is available. I have not been able to find a website regarding the Dr. Ebbetts collection. However, This Guide shows what is available from the good Doctor. And This Link is to a PDF of even more information.

YES!!!! It sounds as good as they say. I am not sure if it sounds better than the 'Die Beatles' edition (I've not yet compared back to back)...but needless to say...this is THE Please Please Me.
The sound of both is great but the 'problem' with the 'Die Beatles' album that the songs are slightly speeded up. Probably courtesy of a turntable playing too fast. So this is the one to have!

At 1:43 in "Please Please Me", it sounds like there's an extremely delayed echo happening. Is it supposed to sound like that? Great sound overall.
Well, this is taken right off the record. SO I don't know if it is supposed to sound like that...but it does sound like that.
Yes it's supposed to sound like that! It's a combination of the take used for the stereo mix, with the mono mix including harmonica overdub faded in at the appropriate places. The two takes were different performances at different speeds, so they got out of sync - you should notice it getting worse as they go along.
Dr. E has made 2008 remasters of the entire Blue Box collection- they're on demonoid. Any chance of getting them on your fabulous blog?
