You have found a page containing the most definitive compilations available of the Beatles' music. Included are many of the fine Dr. Ebbetts needle-drops, and the Purple Chick series, nearly in it’s entirety. Also, some great bootlegs are here that fill in any blank spots left.
You will download .zip and .rar files that contain .flac files. You can play the .flac files with VLC Media player, or you can use Winamp…which will also allow you to change them into .wav or .mp3 files. Then you can burn them to a disk or send them to your ipod.
There is a Website chronicling the Purple Chick series. Use it as a guide for what is available. I have not been able to find a website regarding the Dr. Ebbetts collection. However, This Guide shows what is available from the good Doctor. And This Link is to a PDF of even more information.
Enjoy this collection!!!

Hiya beatlepeeps!
...i always LOVE being first! neener neener neener
(and who was it that said this site wasn't an intellectual paradise of serious-minded profunditry? And is that last even a word??).
That is all. And now, off to shed more wisdom & light!
Cheers,
Mr. Kite!
There will be interest here! If you're willing to make it a go, I'll donate.
Ron
Dear MGS,
....and Mr Kite, Sonia (Congratulations), INTB and all the other sincere posters and commentators.
Thank You, No, but I do not want a refund and would gladly donate more if needed. I have enjoyed the posts as well as the comments (well, most of them).
Mr. Kite,
I hope you are healing well through the power of music (especially Beatles Music). My thoughts and prayers have been with you.
I am looking forward to the remasters and hope I can afford both box sets.
This has been a great resource and maybe it has served it's purpose. Or Not?
MGS,
THANK YOU for all your time and efforts. Hope to see a post again soon.
To All Reading,
Put on your favorite Beatles Flac, MP3, CD, LP, Cassette or 8-Track and crank it up to eleven!!!
LIS
Well then, I've been out for awhile, but as long as LIS has given me a nod, and my new friend MR. Kite has also weighed in, I suppose it couldn't hurt to add my two cents.
This place was a godsend, MGS. No matter what the detractors and naysayers have said; your work has been appreciated by many. I think it's safe to say that it did serve its purpose. It did for me, in any case. Much of what was here will never be officially available, and that is reason enough to bring it back if you are able. If not, then you will always have my thanks.
Mr Kite: profunditry is most certainly not a word, but I like it anyway.
Congratulations Sonia, thanks for the good nod LIS, and most of all a big thanks to MGS.
Cheers!
INTB
NOTHING beats the site you had going,MSG. You absolutely spoiled me!
You have a GREAT SITE !!!! I Feel spoiled by it and would gladly donate toward a NEW SITE. Don't let the dream (and site) DIE.
I would gladly donate too. Keep the site alive. There are releases coming out regularly, other than remasters of the original studio albums. So there will always be a need for sites like your's, even after the remasters come out later this year.
Well... a site with purple chick and dr E flac files will always be welcome. We don't know
the remasters will be better in sound or not, and certainly won't be as complete as purple chick editions.-
Hi,
Keep hoping. Hang in there! Your site was a godsend.
Mauseus
LET IT ROCK!!!!!
Hello there:
I love this site! Unfortunately I discovered it a few weeks before "the bad news"...
Congratulations MGS for all that effort and don't let it die.
The remasters are coming out, but Dr.E and P. Chick collections are far more complete. I don't think there will ever be a pack of all the available outtakes along with the original album...
I know the new collection is meant to sound better and louder, but I don't think there will be a dramatic improvement from Dr. Ebbets/Purple Chick as they are just remasters and not remixes as it was the case of yellow submarine soundtrack.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure that all the people that come to this site, they don't mind having another version of their favourite record, in actual fact, they'd love to have it!!
Cheers dude and keep that awesome job.
Mamunio
Thanks for your site.
I downloaded dozens of cds from it, and I appreciated every one.
What you do with your life is up to you.
You owe us nothing.
Thanks
p.s. Does anyone really believe the upcoming official releases will be of the same quality as Doc Ebbetts? If you do leave the building now.
Rowland from Australia
Thanks a lot, MGS. Yours was a terriffic site. The best. And if you felt really good doing it, I think it's up to you to keep it going on somewhere else. Beatles music is a passion.-
Best regards

Re whether or not there is interest in re-launching "A Collection Of Beatle Oldies", I have a well-considered answer to submit for your consideration:
YES!
Cheers from the "keen grasp of the obvious" section of the MGS blog folks,
Mr. Kite!
ps: I know for a fact that Dr. Ebbett's is going full steam ahead, regardless of the new remasters coming down the pike from Apple. The notion that the remasters release will somehow render Dr. E or PC irrelevant is nonsense, we Beatlepeeps want 'em ALL :D
pps: Thanks again to all the good folks here, INTB, LIS, Wm, Sonia, etc etc, for well, everything. Believe it or not, you have all made the horror of the last month much more bearable.
ppps: INTB, I'll be emailing you tonight if I can shovel through the work that has built up during my bereavement leave. Not to mention my 'misery' leave, nor the 'insane' leave, the 'danger to self & others' leave, the 'even hate my rock and roll' leave...well, you get the idea. Genuine thanks to all.
I've usually just hung out in the background, reading posts and of course downloading stuff. But for some reason I'm feelin' like it's time to say somethin'.
MGS... this site was WONDERFUL. As I look at the towering stack of CDs I've burned... makes me glad that the site existed at all. If I'd been able to contribute, I'd have been happy to do so.
If you decide it's time to let it be, there's no shame in that. You put up more stuff than I ever would have been able to find otherwise.
Kite... there are no words to adequately express my sorrow at what you've been through. Keep faith in whatever Higher Power you believe in... things WILL get better if you let them.
I admit I'm pretty clueless as to finding other sites to get whatever PC and Dr.E stuff may get released. So I'm hoping that the remasters will be all we hope they'll be... but as others have said, they won't be nearly as complete.
And so, back to the shadows, as it were...
From Bearguy who says
*****I admit I'm pretty clueless as to finding other sites to get whatever PC and Dr.E stuff may get released.*******
Perhaps you should try a search engine. SEARCH, hint hint. Google is popular, and there are others. In Google, as a wee help to you, look at the top left of google.com. Click "more". Select "Blogs". Now search in THEM for what you want.
Honestly, I wonder how some people can ever operate a mouse!
I wouldn't throw in the towel just because the remasters are coming out. In this day and age, it's possible they'll become victim to the "loudness wars." Basically, let's see how loud we can make a cd, no matter that compression may have to be used, or how much clipping is now part of the mix. That's why the newer Rush and Metallica albums sounds so distorted, or why the Slayer and Iron Maiden remasters don't have the warmth of the earlier versions. Don't even get me started on how bad the Cocteau Twins albums sound now. Honestly, I only see the remasters increasing the need for more Dr. Ebbetts transfers. For more on the loudness war, go here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudness_war
Not to mention the fact there are no new or unreleased tracks offered on the remasters! What a waste! Same tracks we've listened to for the past 45 years just 'remastered'? I guess some people have to throw their money away on something! I'll take Ebbetts/PC over that garbage anyday!
Remasters or no remasters, I still think it's up to you to keep a site going on somewhere else. Beatles music is a passion.-
So let us know what you think about it.-
Mara
MGS! I hope the blog will be working again not too long from now. Have you any news about the future of your blog already?
There's a new site to share without frontiers in http:
//strawberrylane.forumsmusic.com/
Best regards.-
Pete
Looks like I'll be passing on strawberrylane. I don't use my birthday on a forum, and it's not accepting the registration with fake ones. Anything that demands that much personal info from someone is a scam. They're probably collecting users info for purposes nonrelated to Beatles. Beware people. Be careful.
MGS,
Thank You so much for your site and all the effort and work you have done to keep it up. For the past year or so it was one of the highlights of my day to visit and download. Thanks to you, I have my dream collection of Beatles Music. Actually, the collect that is beyond my wildest dreams.
If you do decide to continue, I hope I am aware of your new location. I would be more than happy to donate to make this happen.
Thanks again. So Much.
Kent in Los Angeles
a ray in the darkness today...just a peep.
...then the door slams shut again. Just like that /
I often come here and find nice gems to listen to. I'm 46 years old with 2 small kids. Very little time to devote time to search for Beatles music that will make me feel "younger" again. This was a nice place to go to. If you decide that updating the site is too much work and time, let me say to you, thanks for what you've already given! Hopefully you'll decide to keep it going if that is your passion. Thanks again!
Thanks for the link to strawberrylane. I had no problem to registrate using my nickname.-
Maybe it works as a replacement of JPGR.-
WalrusPaul
would be a good option disponibilize the albuns via pando?
Greetings to anyone who might still be checking the old stompin' grounds...even the malcontents from the last thread. I mean, what would life be like without those who delight in negativity??
...oh yeah, it would be pretty good actually. Oh well, sing a simple song, you can make it if you try, it's a family affair...
(sorry, been listening to Sly & Family Stone...here's a personal tidbit for the masses: in 1970, my older sister threw out her kneecap whilst dancing to Sly's "Stand" lp, and attempting to iron clothes at the same time! Kids, don't try this at home!)
Ok, better duck out before someone says 'how dare you post something non-Beatle related', or some such...Happy Fourth Of July, it's a brand new day baby! :D
Counting the minutes until 9/9/09, i remain,
Mr. Kite!
ps: oh yeah, I'm STILL interested in seeing the MorningGlorySeed phoenix rise from the ashes again...better to be hopeful than good, as the saying goes...
...wait a sec, I think i got that mixed up :O
Tis' sad but true: Doctor Ebbetts Sound Systems is no more.
I'm not sure how much I can tell about the deal, I was thinking of posting the mass emailer with the details, but I want to get explicit permission first.
Of course, I hate the decision but I do understand it. Doc feels the remasters to come are so good (he got to hear genuine examples recently) that DESS has basically outlived its usefulness, sts.
Boo! It's a big Beatle world, with more than enough room for everything. Nothing in the remasters will 'replace' the needledrops, the vinyl factor alone is prima facie evidence of that.
I tried to convince Doc to change his mind about this, me and probably a thousand others, but the decision is apparently final.
It makes one value and appreciate even MORE the work that MGS did here, and yes I haven't given up hope for a re-emergence, and never will.
as they say in the blogosphere,
...developing.
Hope all is well with all who reads this.
Cheerio,
Mr. Kite!
Ah Kite, you are a silly person thinking that Seed will have anything more to do with this site.
Admit it: you know it's so, deep down. And you know why too ...
Thanx for the Ebbettes update! I think he should continue w/the needledrops, as nothing, not even the 'Unmixed, Unedited,' "Remasters" can ever replace the analog warmth he gave us!! For those of us on limited budgets (make that zero budgets), I can't wait for lossless downloads of the 09 09 09 f***ups!! Keep your eyes & ears open!!

just counting minutes till 9/9/9...
Hello Beatlepeeps,
Long time no type. Has anyone else heard that the mono box is limited to 10,000 copies!? Is that worldwide or just USA? How in the world (pun intended) are all of the Beatle collectors going to get a copy?
I've decided I want both boxes and just in time for my birthday and Christmas! But how do I insure I get a box without preordering?
I've also heard a rumour (maybe just wishful thinking here) that on 09-09-09 the box or boxes will go for $99.99 for a limited number and a limited time....anyone?
Just a raving loon in LI
LIS
Anyone able to upload this?

:(
Is this site dead now?
Try this for the Xmas album: http://www.filesend.net/download.php?f=7a1ebbb3a6fe3ef59cf5dc169726b913
Any leaked dls for the remasters?? Lossless of course!! I know its way premature, but a girl can dream can't she?
Well...that was password protected, and it didn't look as if it was the Ebbetts release either...thanks anyway.
Sorry 'bout that dude! Yeah MP3s they are for sure, but I thought maybe you were just hard up for the LP, anyway you could get it! Here's the pass if you still need it: www.chilewarez.org

Is that Ebbetts?
Don't know.

Those links all come up as....
Error:
The file could not be found. Please check the download link...??????
I checked out the links and they all work, so I'm not sure what the problem is on your end. I copied and pasted the links from the post into a browser window and downloaded all three. The files unzipped fine; no password required. They are indeed FLAC files. The file sizes are actually a little larger than the Doc's version that I have, so everything seems right with this one. I converted them to WAV and burned one. It plays and sounds just fine. It's a different version than the Doc's - this one has bonus tracks and somewhat different artwork. It doesn't match up with any of the versions listed in Bootlegzone. There's no way of knowing if the artwork matches these files anyway, so who knows? What I do know is that the core seven tracks that are on the Ebbett's version are here. You can't go wrong if you need this one.
Hope it all works out for you. Let me know if you need some help.
Happy Crimble in July all you Beatle people!
INTB
Thanks for the links. I had to copy the links in notepad and copy/paste from there before they would work. Very nice set..Thanks again!
You're quite welcome. I'm glad that worked out for you.
Cheers!

FOR Purple Chick, try

Also some other stuff.-

Anyone know that email of the guy who used to run this site?
If anybody is still out there.....
I did it, I pre-ordered the Mono box through the Beatles web-site and fanfire, the price was steep but Amazon is sold out and I DON'T want to miss this one!...only 10,000 copies and that seems like very few....so get yours now if you can....
Now I have to wait until 9/9/09!
LIS
Yep, Amazon is SOLD OUT of the Mono Boxes, as LIS stated above. I just checked, tis' true!! :o
After I got over my shock, I scoured the 'nets to see if I could find another site accepting 'pre-oders'...
and I did! Best Buy has the mono box available for pre-order at the low low price (yeah, right) of $229.00 USD. Needless to say, I ordered one straightaway, and also paid for 'express' shipping; per the BB site, I should get it on 9/11/09.
Until then, I'll just have to 'make do' with the stereo box, which apparently NOT a limited edition.
In other news, FanFire FINALLY delivered the Apple Records dartboard I had ordered back in January...now if I just had some darts ;)
Hope all is well with everyone; just emerging back into the light myself...eyes hurt a bit, but better than the darkness I've been living in for some time now.
Cheers,
Mr. Kite!
ps: big 'hellos' to INTB, LIB, Wm, Sonia, Kwork, anybody else I'm forgetting...and of course "Anonymous" :D
pps: INTB, I'll be emailing you soon. Sorry for the prolonged absence, but hopefully you understand why. And guess what? I'm planning on getting a list together as well  :)
Hello back to you Mr. Kite and everyone else still reading this. Unfortunately I'm on a fixed income right now due to disability. The $200 plus is a third of my monthly income right now, and wouldn't leave enough to even pay the rent. I just wish it wasn't a limited box, the mono one. I'm hoping it'll get a wider release later on. Till then I'll need to pass and stick with my Dr. Ebbetts downloads I've gotten from here and elsewhere. I'm not happy about that, but that's the way it is for now.
Kwork - You're not alone there, this economy is killing me too. However, I did budget enough $$ for the mono box way back when, and was lucky enough not to have to delve into it by the time I ordered it (from Best Buy, as Amazon was sold out by then).
I've just found out that Best Buy is now sold out too, so there may not be anymore Mono boxes to sell! Who was the dim bulb who thought 10000 copies was enough to even come CLOSE to meeting demand??
Wld you be interested in CD-R's?? maybe we can work something out there...just a thought.
Cheers,
Mr. Kite!
Mr. Kite, not a bad thought at all, and greatly appreciated. Knowing the Internet, it'll eventually appear somewhere as flac files, either UseNet or Torrent. Still, I'd be willing to talk more. I'm not sure how to get my email address to you though. I don't want to publish it here in comments.
I wouldn't fret too much about missing out on the mono box, unless the artwork & mini documentaries are important to you. Besides there are no bonus cuts and that really sucks!
Like one poster said, the CDs will show up as lossless (flac) downloads anyway, and for free by some generous blogger, so cheer up! Anyway from what I've heard, & please correct me if this is wrong. This is PHASE ONE which is only the proper remastering of the exisiting vintage masters. This has to be done before EMI moves to PHASE TWO which is remixed deluxe versions of the albums! The remixed versions are the ones that will make everyone's jaw drop to the floor when they finally hear them in their full fidelity and logical stereo mixes! I'll be glad to wait it out for the remixed versions!!
Kwork - try www.theusers.net. If you drop a line to the 'contact' section there, a certain guitarplaying Beatlefreak will get it forwarded, and then can send you my...err...an email addy that is more, shall we say, "direct" ;)
I've been able to establish contact with INTB in this fashion, and come to think I need to send him an email soon as well.
To quote Joey Ramone:
"We're a happy family, we're a happy family, Gabba Gabba HEY"
...not sure how that came up, but it seems to fit...
Hope all is well with everybody, and everyone has their 9/9/09 party planned! :D
re the Anonymous post just above, I'm waiting for the remasters to be released in the blu-ray format, to take advantage of the 196k density.
A recent article had a commment by Paul re a possible blu-ray release to the effect that "there's a lot of time". Not really sure what that means exactly, but it does seem more wonderfulness is being planned...
ps: so if this is Phase One, will Doris in fact get her oats??
;)
Doris got her oats a long time ago. Just thought I'd take a peek here, given the date and all...

So what about this, are we dead or something? no more coments. Will this site re-born?
